Q: "What's with the name 'Motrya?' Isn't that a woman's name or something?"
A: First and foremost, I want to stress that nothing in the game, other than a few references to literature and/or history is intended to be named after anyone living or dead. The "Rilke Forest" had its name inspired by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, for instance, but nothing in the game intends to plagiarize or otherwise reference his works. As for the name "Motrya," it is based on the game's original working title "Mother Rieya," which doesn't quite roll off the tongue as well, and the game's emphasis has changed from that character's backstory to other matters since its conception in 2003. You will find out what the word "motrya" means in the language of the game during the story, but rest assured it has no relation to the real-world name. Special thanks to a woman named Motrya for asking me this question! (It really made my day)
Q: "Why does Dayang float?"
A: This is explained in further detail in the game, but: Dayang is a Wind Forlat, and they can float. It comes naturally to them, like walking.
Q: "How do I learn Forlae?"
A: Just keep playing; this will happen automatically.
